McCoy supported significant upgrades to the school’s facilities, including improvements to the courtyard and quad areas, while preserving the listed Singer building at the centre of the site to maintain its rich history.
The £4 million package comprised foundations, drainage installation, services infrastructure, and reduced level excavations.
Delivered as part of a batch of three net-zero carbon schools within the Department for Education’s 10-year school rebuilding programme, the project also reflected McCoy’s commitment to community engagement.

The team achieved 86% local labour within 20 miles of the site and exceeded corporate social responsibility targets, providing valuable work experience placements - including for Alyssa Kakoullis from Arden Academy, who joined the team for a week to gain first-hand insight into engineering.
This scheme highlights McCoy Contractors’ expertise in complex, live education environments and its ongoing dedication to sustainability, quality, and community investment across the public sector.
