Working in partnership with the main contractor, McCoy Contractors played a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the scheme, undertaking the full groundworks and external works packages from initial enabling through to final completion.

Situated close to key university facilities and major transport links, Longwood Place has been designed to create a modern, connected student community. The development is supported by landscaped courtyards, high‑quality public realm areas and a network of pedestrian routes that link accommodation blocks with shared amenities and social space.

McCoy Contractors were responsible for delivering the complete groundworks package across the site, including foundations for multiple multi‑storey accommodation buildings. The scope included:

• Full site preparation and enabling works

• Foundations for several multi‑storey student accommodation blocks

• Installation of foul and storm drainage networks

• Delivery of all site‑wide services including utilities, ducting and infrastructure connections

• Construction of reinforced concrete (RC) retaining structures to manage level changes across the development

McCoy Contractors delivered:

Alongside the groundworks, McCoy Contractors delivered the full external works package, shaping the character and usability of the new student neighbourhood. This included:

• Extensive block paving installations forming primary pedestrian routes, plazas and shared outdoor spaces

• Construction of car parking areas, including sub‑base preparation, kerbing, surfacing and associated drainage

• Support for landscaped courtyard areas and communal outdoor zones

These external works were essential in creating an attractive, accessible and durable environment that enhances the student experience.

McCoy Contractors delivered all works to programme and to a consistently high standard, providing the structural foundations and high‑quality external environment that define Longwood Place.

Their contribution has enabled the creation of a modern, resilient and future‑proof student community, supported by robust drainage systems, stable building platforms and well‑designed public realm areas that enhance both functionality and wellbeing for residents.
