The award further strengthens the longstanding relationship between McCoys and McLaren Construction, building on a number of successful projects delivered together across the UK.

A notable feature of the project is the deployment of an on-site concrete batching plant by McCoy’s. The decision follows the highly successful use of a batching plant at the landmark TJ Morris Distribution Centre in Doncaster, a circa one million sq ft development also delivered in partnership with McLaren Construction.

On that project, the on-site plant proved instrumental in increasing productivity,improving quality control and reducing dependence on external concrete supply chains. It also significantly reduced vehicle movements, helping to lower the project's environmental impact while providing greater flexibility around weather conditions and site operations.

At Hinckley, the same approach is expected to deliver substantial programme and sustainability benefits, allowing the project team to maintain tighter control of concrete production while reducing the logistical challenges associated with ready-mix deliveries.

The deployment of an on-site concrete batching plant reflects McCoy’s commitment toinnovation and its ability to bring proven solutions from previous large-scaleprojects to new developments.

Like many major industrial schemes, the project presents several technical challenges, including working around overhead power lines, a railway bridge, ahigh-pressure gas main and areas of vegetation requiring management and trimming. Drawing on extensive experience in delivering complex infrastructure and industrial developments, McCoy’s site team will carefully coordinate operations to ensure the works progress safely and efficiently.‍
